Rest

To arrest.

A state of quiet or repose; a cessation from motion or labor; tranquillity; as, rest from mental exertion; rest of body or mind.

Hence, freedom from everything which wearies or disturbs; peace; security.

Sleep; slumber; hence, poetically, death.
